Yellow cake with chocolate frosting (and then more chocolate frosting). A classic cake combination.

Kristy turned 30 this year. Yes, there were 30 candles. We had lunch at a tapas restaurant in Alexandria, Virginia. It was a very good time.

My mom found me a new cake pan on sale so she bought it for me, then invited me down to make the cake for her work's monthly birthday celebration! When I got there, she had a set of curtains all made for my kitchen. This is the cake and one of the curtains. The other one is the same material but it's a roman shade. Just need to get it hung in the window. The only problem now is that the curtain has such pretty colors, it makes the existing paint in the kitchen look drab and boring. Looks like I'll be re-painting the kitchen on the next 3-day weekend.

Sherry and Russ's wedding cake. This is the largest cake I've attempted. Each layer is a different flavor with a different filling. Took about 6 hours to decorate and an hour to assemble on location. The flowers are real and matched the bridesmaids bouquets. Phew, was I glad when that was over!
